Principles Of Behaviorism Essay Example for Free

Principles Of Behaviorism Essay The principles of behaviorism are represented through a sequence of events and possibly lead to â€Å"time-out† period. Time-out is used by parents as a disciplinary tool towards their misbehaving child. Parents respond to a child’s actions through reinforcement, whether it be expressed by a positive or negative feedback. When a child does something unacceptable or troublesome the parent may use seclusion as a type of punishment known as â€Å"time-out.† After the child has done something wrong they must sit in a quiet area by themselves and ‘think about what they had done wrong. ’ The time-out isolation usually is dismissed after the child has â€Å"cooled down† and acknowledges their behavior and is ready to act appropriately. Time-out usually influences a child’s behavioral development by learning the consequences of disobedience. This type of reinforcement could have many consequences based on the parent’s discretion. Some parents may use the threat of deprivation as a further penalty. The removal of the child’s TV, video games, cell phone or time with friends may be taken away until the child has fully understands why they are being punished. If the parents have successfully reinforced the child’s behaviors throughout development, the child should not be repeating a punishment for the same bad behavior that was once acknowledged. The child’s behavior should have already been handled and the frequency of misbehaving should decrease.

Machiavelli :: essays research papers

A great leader is someone who appears to be priceless. Great leader is the main example of his people; he should have the characteristics of higher standards therefore developing his followers into something better. Extraordinary leaders need to have communication skills to understand what the followers expect from him. "You serve as an influential role model for your players and everything you do will be watched. Vince Lombardi says, "Leaders are made, they are not born; and they are made just like anything else has every been made in this country - by hard work."" (Sugarman). Great leader must be seen as being great not actually being one. Machiavelli suggests this idea in D1. To seem to have the qualities is necessary as opposed to having the qualities without the people knowing about them. This is true for all leaders not just political. D1 suggests flexibility is needed, "†¦ but you must have the mind so disposed that when it is needful to be otherwise you may be able to change to the opposite qualities." Flexibility is important; the leader all in all has to give the people what they want satisfying the majority. D1 says that great leaders are sometimes obligated to do evil if constrained without deviating from what is good (if possible), "†¦ being often obligated, in order to maintain the state, to act against faith, against charity†¦" Communication and timing are important. Great leaders are great when they get something across to the followers that the followers want to hear, there is a clear understanding from both sides. "The great leader is a master in the art of communication. He or she is aware of the strong need for actions to match words. Leaders need to possess a willingness to listen to input with an open mind." (Sugarman), "Leadership is about building connections. Effective leaders make people feel they have a stake in common problems." (Goodwin). Great leaders are good with timing; "Timing is (almost) everything. Knowing when to introduce an initiative, when to go before one's constituents -- and when to hold off -- is a crucial skill." (Goodwin). Leaders must care about their people (and of course show them that they care): "A leader who does not hesitate before he sends his nation into battle is not fit to be a leader" (a quote of Golda Meir) (Spanoudis). This sets an example for the followers to care about their leader too.

This irresponsible act contaminates our drinking water and can cause serious health problems and can even culminate in death. Noise pollution is another form of pollution. Noise from heavy machinery and vehicles can cause hearing problems and in extreme cases, deafness. As there is growing number of vehicles on the road, we are exposed to noise pollution every day.The government in advanced countries encourage their citizens to take the public buses and trains by providing an affordable and efficient transportation system. This effort discourages people from driving their private vehicles and consequently reduces the number of vehicles on the road. We must work together to reduce pollution so that the future generations can live in a healthy, unpolluted environment. As the saying goes, precaution is better than cure. Lets hands on hands together by recycle and conserve the world for the better future.

A Report On The Night - 1193 Words

A few minutes after Anthony had set up the ambush, Ultron disabled the camouflage on him and Loki a few feet away from the tower. They had just enabled the distraction, with Lightningbug leading the charge. It would give them hopefully enough time they needed to break into the tower and steal the files. Report? Ultron tilted his head slightly, activating the installed communication link as the static buzzing in his head adjusted into Lightningbug s voice. A bunch of people are freaking out over haywire toasters. Lightningbug mused, hovering in the air over the building, watching over the panic. I ve already emptied out a third of the hostages. He added, ushering a small child into a safe zone. Might as well make this distraction†¦show more content†¦Odin s beard! He growled, much to Ultron s amusement. This blasted thing is as thick as Yggdrasil s trunk! Loki said, frustrated. If they still had the mind gem in the scepter Loki might ve just blasted the door open, but it was currently in Visorus head so the scepter was only a mere shadow of its former power, now only aided by whatever bits of magic Loki knew. I m guessing that means it s thick. Ultron deadpanned, beginning to scan the lines of code he was examining. While Loki kept trying to break the door open, he would try a more high-tech approach. I ve never actually seen Yggdrasil before it burned, so I assume it s quite bulky. Loki ignored his comment like he thought he d do and Ultron found the code for the security system. You can uh, stop banging on the door like an idiot. A dry smirk came onto Ultron s face as Loki frowned, giving him a puzzled glance. Why? At that moment the door flung open, swinging around like someone had just blasted it open with a tornado. Loki was promptly hit in the face by the left side as Ultron stifled a laugh. How did you do that?! Loki s recovered from the hit and began to massage his jaw with his arm as Ultron hid a smile. Hacking. He deadpanned once more, Loki, feeling jealous, decided not to cast anymore of his sarcastic remarks.
